Children grow up and move away. Parents grow old. Bodies age. Seasons change. Change is a struggle for everyone. Some pursue it to the extreme; others resist it completely.

The only way I’ve found contentment, peace, and hope with change — within struggle — is to rest all my hope on an unchanging God.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” (James 1:17)

Some often say, “The only constant in life is change.” When it comes to this temporal world, that is certainly true. When it comes to eternal truth, though, we can rely on the consistent, unchanging word and character of God.

If you want stability in the chaos of this changing world, seek Jesus. Seek the truth that does not change. Focus on the one who gives perfectly. Only then will you discover contentment, peace, and hope within change.
